Bright wasn’t too disappointed with last Friday’s 1-1 draw with very tough and competitive Jomo Cosmos team, and he is confident that Jomo Sono’s men are safe from the relegation axe based on their performance against his men.
“It was the very first time that I saw Jomo Cosmos in action,” said Bright. “I had obviously heard of them and people told me a lot about what to expect. But Friday was the first time I actually got to witness first-hand their aggressive, physical approach to the game.
“They are a strong side and I was impressed with how they played.”
But Bright has already put that result behind him and he is now focused on the Nedbank Cup tie against Free State Stars.
“I expect it to be another tough, difficult match against Free State Stars,” said Bright.
“But we are eager to reverse the result of the last time we played them, when they beat us 4-1. We are aware of their strengths and weaknesses and will prepare accordingly.
“Because they are at home, they will come out buzzing and confident, but we are hungry and motivated and are much better organised than the last time we played them. We have a point to prove after losing badly to them last time. And the players are ready to prove that point.
“We are not the same team they beat then. We are in form, we have got a successful approach and style going and we aim to keep it going.
“In defence, we are a lot more steady, and they won’t find it as easy to break us down this time.
“All in all, it should be an exciting cup clash, but I think we have the players to pull off a positive result for us.”
