We have heard so many times people saying that you are never too old to learn. That is definitely something that I believe in and I am glad that an opportunity to grow and learn more about the beautfiful game has presented itself for me.

The SA Football Association (SAFA) has invited me to attend an international coaching course in Hennef (Germany) from the 5th-16th May this year. Every year two coaches from our shores visit Germany to get coached on the latest football developments in the world.

I have been to quite a few countries to improve my coaching ability and qualifications, but this one in Germany I think will be different to those in France and Holland.

In Germany I think discipline will be the order of the day, judging on the way the game is played in that country. In Holland and France, coaching is based on the skill factor of the game, which is something we as South Africans can relate to.

We here at home talk about discipline, but do we really know what the concept entails. I am just glad I am about to experience it first-hand, and I am grateful for the opportunity.
