We played seven games in the Bayhill Tournament. We won four games, when we have beaten Greenwood, Old Mutual, Bay United and Hanover Park.

The four goals were scored as follow: Chezlyn Jampies scored two, Darren Omaticus scored one and Zuroog Daniels scored one as well. The team has lost two games against the Germans and draw one game against Ikapa Sporting. Santos FC was the mid section tournament winners (Losers of the quarter finals).

We thus ended up 5 th, the highest place Cape Town Team. I have expected a bit more from our players, because of the fact that I think we were good enough to go all the way.

Fortunately we have played the maximum number of games at the tournament, which is good for our youth development and a good experience for our boys.

The Santos FC Bayhill Team is still very young and more than half of the players will still play in the Bayhill next year, where we would like to improve our current 5 th position.

Sidwyn Steven; Junaid Trouncelle; Nazeer Smit and Shaun Sopio were all outstanding players throughout the tournament. The team has received trophies and medals for their efforts.

The Trinitarians U/13 Tournament was the same weekend. Unfortunately two weeks ago the U/13’s lost against Ikapa Sporting in the Strandfontein Final, when they were the runners up.

This time around they have beaten Ikapa Sporting 5-1 in the Trinitarians Final. All the players and Coach Ayyoob enjoyed this very well organized tournament. Our U/13 Team have beaten the following teams: Cravenby 3-0; Central 7-0; Island Rovers 2-0; Liverpool 5-1; Bluedowns 6-0 and Ikapa 5-1 in the final.

Congratulations to Caleb Sampson being selected as the player of the tournament and Darren Smith being chosen as the top goal scorer of the Trinitarian Tournament.
