Coaches Donovan Ronnie and Gordon Witbooi represented “The People’s Team” alongside icons such as Helman Makhalele, Phil “Chippa” Masinga, Trevor “KKK” Mtimkulu and Lucky Shibori.
A typical Course day was set out as follows:
08H30-10H00 Lecture
10H00-12H00 Practical Session
12H00 Lunch
14H00-15H30 Lecture
16H00-18H00 Practical Session
18H30-22H00 Assignments to be completed
As part of a practical, the two Santos Coaches were fortunate to analyze the Bafana vs Poland Friendly Match, which took place at the Orlando Stadium.
They have also completed two exams in this first phase - with regards to the laws of the game as well as football injuries, nutrition and anatomy.
The second phase will take place in August 2009 - where additional written - and practical exams will take place. A pass will proudly crown Donovan Ronnie and Gordon Witbooi as certified SAFA Level One Coaches.
