Boebie: We are improving all the time

Boebie Solomons feels Santos are on an upward curve of form as they head into Wednesday afternoon's match against Golden Arrows in Durban.

The Peoples' Team find themselves nicely positioned in fifth position on the league table as they head into what promises to be a tough encounter against the ball-playing Abafana Bes'thende side.

Arrows are in ninth position, but only one point behind Santos, who have eight points from their six games.

Both sides will be determined to get all three points after drawing and losing their most recent games - Arrows went down 3-1 to Free State Stars, while Santos drew 1-1 with Cosmos, despite having the better of the play.

Solomons is looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead for his side, who he feels are getting better and better as the season progresses.

"We are looking forward to playing against Lamontville Golden Arrows which is going to be a positive challenge for us based on them having reached the MTN8 Cup Final.

“We are very positive because we are improving game by game and increasing our chances of winning," said the Santos coach.

According to Solomons, work has been done in the offensive department, and he is happy that the team is on the right track as far as attacking goes.

"We have been working very hard to create chances to score goals which was proven in our last match against Jomo Cosmos.

“We have found ways to keep possession and to get more players into goal scoring opportunities in the opponents 18 yard area.”

Santos do not have any suspensions for the game at the Chatsworth Stadium, although goalkeeper Eduan Naude is out with a broken finger.
