The club received the following letter’s of thanks after making a huge impression during a recent visit to Montagu Drive Primary

I just want to thank the management and players, especially Eric, for your interest in my boys and the development of their young minds. Your players really opened my boys eyes to the reality that your players are human and not just the players they see on TV.

For them to have been able interact with the players was awesome. You would never have believed the excitement I felt yesterday to be among those players and my hero Boebie Solomons .

I'm a grown up, you can only imagine how my boys felt. This morning I was told that they would prefer playing the finals in the Santos sweaters, it is red and the school colour.

I can't thank you guys enough and wish I had a massive big banner or something to display in front of the school. If I had one it would read : "WE SUPPORT ENGEN SANTOS THE PROFESSIONALS WHO CARES FOR THE COMMUNITY"

I would want everyone to know what you've done for us so that years after we are all gone people will still utter the words : SANTOS FC

I am proud to say I support ENGEN SANTOS. You guys inspire me to want to do more for the sport of soccer.

Dear Chantel

Please express our heartfelt thanks to all those involved in the outreach programme at our school yesterday.

It is just a pity that we could not have included the entire school because of the weather.

The visit was an eye opener for me as I was amazed at the pupils’ knowledge of the players.

The fact that they could identify with the players and even the coach made me realise that we need to get more teams playing as the interest in soccer is indeed overwhelming.

If more role models like your players visited schools and spoke to them about the importance of healthy living and motivated them to be all they can be, regardless of where they come from, more children will be "saved".

Thanks once again for your interest in our school. I hope that yesterday was just a start to our relationship.
