Exciting Times Ahead in 2010



All at Santos would like to wish the club’s fans and happy and prosperous New Year, in what promises to be a thrilling period for South African soccer!

The count down to the World Cup begins in earnest, with the World’s greatest single sport showcase now only six months away, and Cape Town football fans can look forward to see the likes of France, Uruguay, England, Cameroon and Holland playing at our spectacular Green Point Stadium, while Santos’ traditional home ground, Athlone Stadium, will be utilised as a training venue.

And then of course there is the resumption of the tightly contested and highly exciting Premier Soccer League, where Santos are in with an outside chance of winning the championship.

Boebie Solomons and his boys have done the club proud thus far and although eight points adrift of leaders SuperSport United, they have a game in hand, and must also still play the defending champions, in Cape Town.

There is also the Nedbank Cup to look forward to, another opportunity for the Peoples’ Team to cap a fine season with some silverware!

We look forward to some exciting times, thanking the team’s fans for their undying support and we hope to see you down in your numbers in the year ahead!
