As Engen Santos FC emerged as the inaugural champions of the Soccer Festival, held at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday 23 January 2010, I take this opportunity to congratulate all the stakeholders in delivering such a momentous & successful event.

Praise to all involved in developing such a world class facility, Cape Town Stadium, in this wonderful & beautiful city of ours. What a magnificent playing surface, a dream come to true to any footballer.

It was so satisfying to witness that all 20 000 tickets available for this occasion was sold out, way in advance. More encouraging was the fact that it was a true family occasion, safe for everyone, young & old and let this be the catalyst in bringing back bumper crowds to our stadiums (soccer matches) to cheer on and support our local heroes.

Let’s not only be part of History for this one event only, but for many, many years post the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Cape Town, we are READY!!!
