Q & A WITH TSHEPO MOTSOENENG

Santos goal keeper Tshepo Motsoeneng chats to santosfc.co.za about his man of the match performance against Ajax in the Soccer Festival and his time spent at the club thus far.

Motsoeneng has been in outstanding form between the goal posts for the Peoples’ Team all season and has cemented his place in the team with reliable, consistent performances, underlined with moments of brilliance when needed.

We conduct a a brief question and answer session with him…

How did you feel about being awarded the “man of the match “

I am honored to win first award of the Cape Town Soccer Festival’s “the man of the match” . Playing at the new CAPE TOWN STADIUM , with the electric atmosphere , the Mexican wave and the views from the field made for a great feeling . The pitch was beautiful and immaculate, the facilities where astounding and out of this world.

Did you enjoy the atmosphere at the stadium? Did the sound of the vuvuzela bring you greater inspiration ?

The crowd was really great inspiration as it was the first time that I had played before such a huge crowd. It was an incredible experience.

The vuvuzelas created an atmosphere, whereby , the supporters continued to “blow “ invariably saying ”great , continue the good game “.

Are you enjoying your time at SANTOS FC?

Our team had started out with a very positive attitude of wanting to win and set the tone for all future games for the rest of the season.

SANTOS as a club has given me a new lease of life, by taking the risk with me and I would like to repay them by ‘WINING SOME SILVERWARE “this season .I am really enjoying my time here at SANTOS ...only conceding 13 goals this season and 12 clean sheets!!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr GOOLAM ALLIE, EDRIES BURTON and COACH BOEBIE and THE TECHNICAL TEAM for all the support and investment in me personally.

Where do you predict BAFANA finishing in the world cup and are you hoping to be a part of the team?

On the world cup …I would really like to be in the BAFANA squad …the squad is a good one and will do us proud as a country.

Who do you predict will win the world cup?

I believe BRAZIL will WIN the world cup this year.

Who is your closest friend at SANTOS ?

I have a fantastic relationship with all my team mates …able to talk to all of them as friends and team mates.
