The People’s Team participate in 10 km Big Walk

On Sunday, 28th February 2010, the Engen Santos PSL Team exchanged their training session for a refreshing 10km run in the Jive Big Walk event, which had an astounding 20 010 participants.

The team started at the Cape Town Stadium, walked along the Sea Point Promenade and finished off at the Green Point Track after approximately an hour.

In the sweltering heat, the team was cheered on by the spectators all along the scenic route, with the Santos players’ superior fitness levels certainly came in handy!

The organizers had made the event a real gala occasion with religious leaders being present , while entertainers and the radio stations contributed to festive atmosphere .

Fans came to the SANTOS TABLE to sign up as supporters of the People’s Team, and at the same time collecting autographs from their favorite players.

In spite of the heat and sweltering conditions, it was a real fun filled day for the whole family and Engen Santos was really proud of being part of the hugely successful event!

Proceeds from the event are to be presented to the Red Cross Children's Hospital and the Islamic Library.
