SANTOS SUPPORTS CANCER ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH AFRICA

10 March 2010

As part of their ongoing fund-raising efforts, CANSA held their annual SHAVATHON on 6th March in many shopping centres throughout South Africa. A group of SANTOS F C PSL players attended the event.

All of the shoppers in the Cape Gate Shopping Centre were thrilled to see Romano Scott, Eduan Naude, Bevan Fransch, Bongi Macala, Ryan Chapman and Tasleem Paulse in their mall and eagerly joined the queues at the tables to get a picture and an autograph from their favourites.

To add to the fun on the day and as the main thrust of the fund-raising for the day, the players all paid their “donation” and could choose to either have their heads shaved or have the hair colour-sprayed.

All Santos players chose the latter and besides having their hair turned red, yellow and green they also had designs of stars, balls and other designs painted onto their hair. (Tasleem had his hair sprayed with all the colours of our National Flag!)

The shoppers and the organisers all appreciated the fact that Santos players were prepared to join in with those shoppers who also had their hair coloured.
